John Edwards, destined to be Commander-in Chief for the War on Poverty

I predict The former North Carolina senator John Edwards will go down in history as a great and honorable man who ran for President then dedicated the rest of his life fighting the "War on Poverty." Alot of don't realize this little recession is just the beginning. No stimulus package is going to head of the great expansion of Poverty. Even if the general economy rebounds with US coorporate prosperity, its too late for the many middle class Americans economic status headed below the poverty level. His message WILL become relevant to America. Watch this interview with Travis Smiley, May 23, 2007 after anouncing bid for the Democratic nomination for president in 2008, discusses Presidential responsibility for Katrina and his co-authorship of "Ending Poverty in America:How to Restore the American Dream."

Dealing the Race Card from the bottom of the deck...

Pre IOWA...race is a not an issue. In fact Obama works hard avoids anything specifically African-American or racial...eg. Jena Six...overcoming identity the "black candidate. Being half-white and half-African, he's accused of not being Black enough. He makes no complaints, but true to the passive agressive strategy Michelle reprimands Black folk. After NH win for Hillary and with the next primary being held in SC with huge Black electorate at stake Barack began to Blacken. Barack's speeches develop into Southern Baptist rhetorical styled sermons as MLK Holiday and SC primary approaches. The exalted comparisons of his inspirational fortitude to Dr. King lead Hillary to clarify the roles of Civil Rights leader and President. He denies any feeling of accusation against her statements, meanwhile remarks about MLK & LBJ misrepresented by members of his campaign. Unfounded racially charged criticism of Hillary obviously hurts and angers Bill Clinton. The first "Black President" Bill Clinton is usurped with a passive agressive play on racial sensitivities to capture African-American voters previously loyal to Clintons. Bill is accused of making Obama the "Black" candidate by comparing his SC victory to Jesse Jackson's. Perhaps he should have been more congradulatory, but I read it as a knee-jerk reaction to minimize the significance of his opponents SC victory gained from predominantly black electorate to final outcome from the nation. Oprah identified Obama as "Black" candidate first not Bill. Black when Convenient!

Man Masquerading in MLKesque Manners

I let loose my personal emotional rant in my reply to the email containing this video of Barack Obama speaking at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s church in Atlanta. Great sermon but sorry, rhetoric does'nt make for best president...his Jena six reference over 6 months late...ideally i'd love to have the next dem candidate be black...the next president be black...but remove the rhetoric...is he ready?...WE and the media are NOT asking him the HARD questions...pundits keep saying REPUBLICANS will be united and empowered by HILLARY...don't believe the hype.... If he is the nominee,THEY have a whole bag of tricks waiting on him. HIS eloquence will not make-up for the lack of experiance and inconsistancies on record. IF he is to have a chance WE NEED to treat him like a candidate, NOT the "almost" first BLACK candidate and vett him with tough questions about what HE HAS DONE AND NOT DONE AND WHAT EXACTLY DOES HE INTEND TO DO... BO's using his "race" when its convenient, eg the MLK references for himself, yet against Hillary's absolutely accurate statements about the reality of the "cooperation between MLK & LBJ". A President was necessary to fulfill the HOPES inspired by the Civil Rights Movement. It was the Civil Rights Bill enacted into law by Executive pen that made the DREAM real & tangible. HC's statement was accurate;no way diminishes MLKs significance. I'm so disappointed in BLACK folk for falling for the MEDIA manipulation and piling on Hilary @ her very accurate analogy. Her point was to put a pragmatic realistic voice to the comparisons of Barack to MLK. His talent for delivering inspiring MLKesque speeches is admirable, but HE HAS NOT EARNED the personal experience (he's a black man but never been a "colored man"), political experience (he made one good decision: vote against War...'what have you done lately': voting record?), campaign experience...the Clintons criticisms Barack are nothing to what they have endured and survived of their political rivals in the past and present. Barack has barely been touched and everyone screams "bloody murder" DOES ANYONE REMEMBER HAROLD FORD, JR for TN senate....The republicans are playing a great hand of spades, holding thier trump cards...wait while the DEMS & MEDIA have used their cards dealt against Hillary...by this fall they can pull out the Aces & Jokers on Barack Hussein Obama, half white-half KENYAN, muslim father & muslim step father, raised in muslim schools not in America, raised by white grandparents not in continental US....he's a member of a christian church that is as far from "MLK's church" or any traditonal african american church in culture and doctrine...its PRO-AFRICAN and even PRO-FARAKHAN that offends alot of whites, & Jews...WE AFRICAN-MERICANS need to get over ourselves with this over-emotional response to the MEDIAs skewed and limited examination of the candidates in silly sound-bites and empty debate questions and ASK real questions, seek the whole truth of the past and present...If we measure by bestselling books, Barack's a great author, If we measure by crowds drawn Baracks a great orator, but have we counted his votes or any of his official activities as a congressman...will he comes up short! blah, blah, blah hope, blah blah, change, blah blah ...has he earned comparisons to MLK, JFK or LBJ! Since this emailed rant I've been gathering the information to support my rantings. My HOPE is that I want be saying I told you so during McCain innauguration Jan 2009!

Never underestimate Hillary Clinton again!

January 11, 2008 Transcript: Bill Moyers talks with Kathleen Hall Jamieson BILL MOYERS: Welcome to the JOURNAL. It was, as you know, a good week for John McCain and Hillary Clinton. MCCAIN/CLINTON: Thank you! BILL MOYERS: But not for pundits in the polls. Just take a look. NEWS COVERAGE: In New Hampshire today, change is the campaign buzz word but Hillary Clinton maybe feeling like she's running into a buzz saw. I think what you're seeing in the Clinton campaign is a campaign that's reeling. How does she kill this impending sense of execution? This sort of sick feeling that this woman is going down. A definite sense that the Clinton campaign if not imploding is definitely beginning to fall into a crater. Here's another thing to look at Edwards could come in second. He did that four years ago. And that would be the end for Hillary Clinton. I think this thing is so over that if she has a 100 million dollars she better spend 95 of the 100 million in New York State cause she'll lose there too. BILL MOYERS: Not exactly. The race wasn't over it was just beginning. NEWS COVERAGE: A new day in New Hampshire at this hour and what appears to be…A lot of scratching their heads trying to figure out exactly what happened here. I'm going to spend the next year in analysis trying to figure out why we were so wrong. No, I mean all the pundits were wrong. I will never underestimate Hillary Clinton again. Pouring Out the Hillary Hatorade: Gender Bias!

Hillary is demonized by irrelevant issues that no male candidate faced.
Likability?PLEASE, I lost all respect for CNN with that ignorant and rude question during debate in New Hampshire January 5, 2008. Yet she handled it with a smile and with such grace said,"Well, that hurts my feelings..." . Hated for honoring marriage vows and sticking with husband. Hated for not showing emotion. Hated for showing emotion.
Newsweek article Hillary Tears Up reports a brief moment of emotion for an exhaused candidate in NH. But on Salon.com by Camille Paglia's blogging Hillary without tears pours hatoration as only another female could:
"But Hillary herself, with her thin, spotty record, tangled psychological baggage, and maundering blowhard of a husband, is also a mighty big roll of the dice. She is a brittle, relentless manipulator with few stable core values who shuffles through useful personalities like a card shark ("Cue the tears!"). Forget all her little gold crosses: Hillary's real god is political expediency. Do Americans truly want this hard-bitten Machiavellian back in the White House? Day one will just be more of the same."
but she obviously sips the Obama Koolaid:
"Obama has served longer as an elected official than Hillary. He has had experience as a grass-roots activist, and he is also a highly educated lawyer who will be a quick learner in office. His international parentage and childhood, as well as his knowledge of both Christianity and Islam, would make him the right leader at the right time. And his wife Michelle is a powerhouse."

Future posts will challenge every part of these incredibly weak statements of qualification for BHR!

Obama Co-Chair Jesse Jackson, Jr. Questions Hillary's Tears Also exemplifies Obamas passive agressive tactic. Hitmen deliver negative attacks. He stays clean and positive.

Obama Koolaid: A computer geeks perspective...

I couldn't give a better explanation in my own words than what this guy who blogs in recent post The Common Culture Root of Web 2.0 and Barack Obama:

On the surface, the Web 2.0 phenomenon and the Obama phenomenon are unrelated. They seem to be unrelated events in two separate fields. However, deep down, they are both results of something deeper in our current culture and society. Our civilization and society have evolved into an era that is distinctly different from anything that the human kind has had before. Let’s look at the characteristics and principles of this iGen culture by comparing the Obama phenomenon and the Web 2.0 phenomenon. Connecting With People Before Web 2.0, people connected and communicated just fine. However, the iGen culture elevated “connecting with people” to such a status that we value a social network like FaceBook, useful but not sure how useful, at a staggering $15B valuation, three years after it was founded. In the presidential race,Hilary kept pounding on her track record, experience and issues/positions.–Isn’t that presidential candidates should do? However, the secret here is that“connecting with people” is far more important in this era. Obama did really well here by putting “connecting with people” at the front and center of his attention Popularity First, Everything Else Later In the Web 2.0 world, it is a winning strategy for “a startup to focus on pursuing millions of users first, and worry about business model later”.FaceBook, YouTube, Google, MySpace, Skype… that have proven this time and time again. In a presidential race, you would expect things like issues, positions, track record, etc as the key factors influencing voter decisions. Nope. “Popularity” is the key in this iGen culture. Whether a candidate is liked by voters weighs much more than other factors. Of course, we all logically know that “likeability! = capability”. However, human beings are genetically programmed to “vote” for what their hearts felt instead of what their heads tell them. User Experience Is The Differentiator The rise of Web 2.0 reflects what consumers nowadays are looking for: a better experience. iPhone: User Experience Is The Differentiator.Obama excels at delivering a “great user experience” from his speeches. If you listen to him talk, it’s all about being uplifting and inspiring. The “user experience” from Obama talks is undoubtedly better than any other candidates. Don’t Be Boring For the first time, “attention” is the rare commodity for the majority of the people in our society. Yet as individuals, we are psychologically hungry for “attention”. We register ourselves onto all different kinds of social networks and compete on the number of “virtual friends” we have. We carry mobile phones with us on a 24X7 basis, and yet, we have to set up instant messengers and Skye accounts to feel connected. Instant gratification is readily available in everywhere and yet we constantly search for the next instant gratification. The iGen culture hates to be bored and ignores anything that sounds boring. We have gone through so many presidential elections that yet another one is just boring. However, Obama is different. He is almost everything that a serious president candidate would have wanted to avoid in previous elections. But he is not boring and our attention goes to him. Change is More Important Than Experience (Change vs. Experience) The web 2.0 world has shown time and time again that “change” rather than “experience” builds success. FaceBook,MySpace, YouTube etc are all built by young and inexperienced young “kids”. Some of them didn’t even graduate from college. In this presidential race, there has been a battle of change vs. experience. Though it is logical to think that “strong experience” is required to be able to deliver “changes” successfully,“experience” doesn’t really matter too much in the iGen culture. If you compare the “experience” side of Obama and Hilary, Hilary clearly wins. In any other time in history, it is hard to think someone as inexperienced as Obama would be taken seriously. However, this is the culture that we value change more than experience
